Instructions for the examination
Instructions for endoscopic exams:
- Fasting: Do not consume food or liquids for at least 6-8 hours before the examination.
- Medication: Inform the doctor about any medication you are taking. You may need to temporarily stop taking some of these, such as anticoagulants.
- Allergies: Inform the staff of any allergies to medications or anesthetics
- Companion: Plan to have someone accompany you, especially if you are going to be under sedation. You will not be able to drive after the exam.
- Comfortable clothing: Make sure you wear comfortable clothing that will make the examination easy to perform.
- Medical history: Let your doctor know about any previous surgeries or chronic conditions.
